Papaya-Orange Juice
Ingredients
Papaya
Juice from 4 oranges
Ice
Preparation
In a blender, add 1/4 part papaya for every 3/4 part orange juice and ice to your taste. Blend adding water if necessary to archieve the desired consistency.
Papaya Cocktail
Ingredients
A portion of Papaya
Lemon
Honey or salt with chili powder
Preparation
Cut the papaya into cubes and add lemon and salt with chili powder. If you prefer a sweeter taste, substitute honey for the salt with chili powder.
Papaya Crumble
Ingredients
8 tablespoons of coconut milk
1 Papaya
30g of shredded coconut
100g of flour
90g of butter or margarine
30g of sugar
A drop of vanilla of 4 pinches of vanilla in powder
A pinch of salt.
Preparation
In a bowl, place the floue, shredded coconut, sugar, salt, vanilla, and soft butter or margarine. Mix together using your finger until you achieve a "sandy" consistency. Store in a cool place. Cut the papaya in half. Remove seeds. Peel the fruit and cut it into sheets. Spread the papaya in the form of rose petals. Pour coconut milk over the top. Powder the top of the papaya with the previously prepared crumble mixture. Place in an oven preheated to 210 °C (thermostat 7). Allow it to brown for 20 minutes.
Papaya Candy
Ingredients
1 kilogram of sugar
1 kilogram of very ripe papaya
Preparation
Soak the papaya(s) in cold water for one hour before beginning the process. Peal the papayas removing the fruit husk as thinly as posible. Prepare syrip with the sugar until extremely thick; add the papaya cut into chunks without seeds; when the syrup is ready, add the papaya until it becomes soft; leave to soak until the following day; the next day heat the syrup a few minutes until it becomes thick again.
Papaya Ice Cream
Ingredients
700 ml milk
200 grams sugar
300 grams of peeled papaya without seeds
1 tablespoon of gelatin withou flavor
1 tablespoon of vanilla
200 ml heavy cream
Preparation
Blend the milk, sugar, papaya, gelatin (previously diluted), vanilla, and cream for 15 seconds. Pour out into an adequate container or electric ice cream machine and place into the freezer until it reaches, the desired ice creams texture, stirring every half hour to discourage crystalization.
Papaya Marmalade
Ingredients
1 kilo of papaya peeled and seedless, cut into chunks
750 grams of sugar
Juice from 3 or 4 limes.
Preparation
Lightly squash the papaya using a fork. Place into a pot and add sugar. Add lime juice and put on the stove. Bring to a boil over low heat. You will know the marmalade has reached its point when you see the bottom of the pot upon stirring.
Anchovies with Papaya
Ingredients
Papaya fruit syrup
Anchovies
Wine vinegar and cider
Olive Oil/Sunflower Oil
Mayonnaise
Toasted bread.
Preparation
Marinate the anchovies with the corresponding vinegars for 3 hours. Next, separate the anchovy and place the parts in oil for 2 hours. Over a bed of fresh toast, place the anchovies and on top place strips of papaya and garnish with decorative dabs of mayonnaise.
Papaya Desert
Ingredients
1 kilo of medium ripe papaya
500 grams of sugar
2 cups of water
2 slices of fres ginger
150 grams of sliced manchego cheese
Preparation
Peel the papaya and remove seeds. Cut into strips. In a casserole dish, heat water with sugar and ginger. When it comes to a boil, add the papaya and let it cook until it becomes transparent. Serve on dessert dishes with slices of cheese.
